Starting treatment can feel like a big step. For many people, the hardest part is not treatment itself. It is making the call, asking questions, and not knowing what happens next.
At Yonder Behavioral Health, we work to make the admissions process clear, supportive, and manageable. Our team helps you understand your options, verify practical details, and prepare for residential treatment in Berea.
Yonder is a state-licensed behavioral health provider that accepts Medicaid and many major insurance plans and offers residential care for substance use disorders with support for co-occurring mental health concerns.
Whether you’re reaching out for yourself or someone you love, you deserve straight answers and a steady next step.
Admissions at Yonder BH helps you move from that first call to a clear plan for treatment. We’ll walk through your needs, level of care, and insurance or payment details. Let’s begin.
The admissions process is for adults who are looking for residential addiction treatment and need help figuring out how to begin. It can also help families who are supporting a loved one and need a clearer picture of treatment, coverage, and next steps.
Yonder Behavioral Health is a strong fit for people in the Berea, Kentucky, area. We offer structured residential support for substance use, including higher-intensity and lower-intensity residential care, while also addressing co-occurring mental health needs as part of treatment.
A good admissions experience should make things feel less chaotic, not more.
Kentuckians choose Yonder Behavioral Health for several reasons:
That matters because when you’re already overwhelmed, you should not have to fight through a confusing intake process just to get basic answers. You need a team that can explain things clearly and help you keep moving.
At Yonder BH, admissions is designed to be simple, direct, and supportive. The exact pace can vary, but the process usually includes a few main steps.
The process starts with an initial consultation. This may happen by phone or through an in-person assessment. During that first conversation, the admissions team begins learning about your situation, including your substance use history, mental health concerns, and relevant medical background.
You do not need to have your bags packed and documents organized before you call. The point of the conversation is to help sort through where you are and what kind of help may be needed.
After the initial conversation, the team looks more closely at your needs to determine the most appropriate level of residential care. Yonder Behavioral Health offers residential treatment, including high-intensity (ASAM 3.5) and low-intensity (ASAM 3.1) levels. These help support people with different levels of symptom severity and structure needs.
This part of the process is important because not everyone needs the same kind of support. Admissions is not about putting everyone into one box. It is about helping you get into the right setting.
Cost questions are real, and most people have them. Our admissions process includes help with insurance verification, benefits review, and payment discussions.
This step matters because you should know as much as possible up front. Clear financial conversations can remove a lot of stress and help you make a decision with more confidence.
Once the assessment and financial review are in place, the clinical team develops an individualized treatment plan. This may include residential treatment, evidence-based therapies,, and holistic approaches, as well as an aftercare program that supports long-term recovery.
We offer a broad range of therapies and services such as CBT, DBT, individual therapy, family therapy, anger management, art therapy, yoga, meditation, and many others.
You do not need to show up with your whole life neatly packed into folders. Still, a few things can make admissions easier:
The team will need enough information to identify you and communicate with you or your family about next steps.
If you plan to use insurance, having your insurance card and policy details ready can help speed up the process of reviewing deductibles, copays, coinsurance, network status, and any pre-authorization requirements.
Being honest here helps the team understand what level of care makes sense and what support you may need right away. This is essential for determining what level of residential treatment best fits your circumstances, and if you need dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions.
Admission is not the finish line. It is the beginning of treatment and the point where things start to come together, from insurance verification and what to bring to rehab to your first days of therapy, recovery education, relapse prevention planning, and aftercare coordination. The goal is not just to get you through intake. It is to help you settle in, stabilize, and begin building a plan for lasting recovery.

We offer residential addiction treatment with compassionate, comprehensive, and personalized support to help people with substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges.
It usually starts with a phone call and an initial assessment. During that conversation, the admissions team learns more about your substance use history, mental health needs, medical background, and what kind of support may make the most sense. The goal is to give you clarity, not make things harder.
That can vary depending on your assessment, insurance verification, and current availability. Even so, the process is designed to move as smoothly as possible, so you are not stuck waiting around without answers. Our admissions team works to keep things clear, direct, and supportive from the start.
Yes, Yonder Behavioral Health works with Medicaid, Medicare, many employer-sponsored and private insurance plans, and self-pay options. Admissions can help verify your benefits, explain expected costs, and walk you through the financial side before treatment begins.
In many cases, yes. That can be especially important in smaller Kentucky communities, where family support often plays a big role in whether someone feels ready to take that first step. Yonder Behavioral Health encourages healthy family involvement when appropriate, including education, communication, and family therapy support as permitted.
You do not have to have every answer before you reach out. You just need a place to start.
At Yonder Behavioral Health in Berea, the admissions process is built to help you move from uncertainty to a real plan. From the first conversation to assessment, insurance review, and treatment planning, the goal is to make the path forward clearer and more manageable.
